What do I do if the HASP driver does not install properly on my Windows 2000 computer?

There are two reasons that the HASP driver does not install properly in the Windows 2000 environment.

  • (Problem 1) The HASP key has been inserted into the computer prior to installing the HASP driver provided with MAP-Software. Windows 2000 assumes it knows which driver is required, and installs the wrong driver. The HASP installation then fails when the user attempts to install the correct driver.
  • (Solution 1) Make sure the HASP key is no longer inserted into a USB port on the computer. Use the device manager in Windows 2000 to remove the unwanted USB Device Driver. Install the new HASP driver using the "hupdate.exe" file from the "Hasp Drivers and Utilities" download on the "Updates and Installations" page of this website. Follow the instructions provided in the "hinstall.txt" file which is also included in the "Hasp Drivers and Utilities" download. Once the correct driver is loaded you may insert your HASP key into your computer.

  • (Problem 2) The standard HASP driver is being applied to a NETWORK HASP.
  • (Solution 2) Refer to the information contained in the "Network Installation - White Papers" link, contained in the Manuals and White Papers section of this website.

Why can't I see any icons on my CAD-Duct Solids BSS toolbar?

Why isn't the Edit Dialog displayed when I double click a CAD-Duct/CAD-Mech item in the AutoCAD drawing?

  • The "Edit" icon from the CAD-Duct Solids BSS toolbar may also be used.

How do I stop the AutoCad Properties Manager from displaying each time I double click a CAD-Duct/CAD-Mech component in AutoCad?

  • The AutoCAD system variable, "DBLCLKEDIT", controls the display of the AutoCAD Properties Manager when items are double clicked. Turning this option off will stop the dialog from displaying when any item is double clicked in the drawing.

AutoCad is automatically loading the Demo version of the MAPCADDUCT16.ARX. How do I make it load the Licensed version?

  • With new installations, the installer assumes the user wishes to preview the Demo products in CAD. If you want AutoCAD to load the licensed version instead, download this version of "acad.lsp" and save it in the "FilePath?\CAD\Menus" folder. Next time you start AutoCAD the licensed version ARX will load.

Why doesn't the Object Enabler allow me to see CAD-Duct / CAD-Mech fittings?

  • The Object Enabler is intended for AutoCAD users who do not have CAD-Duct or CAD-Mech installed on their computers. The enabler should not be installed on the same computer with the CAD-Duct or CAD-Mech applications.
  • The Object Enabler must be loaded manually the first time. Refer to Object Enabler Install Instructions for more information.

  1. Download the specified files from the updates and install link.
  2. Create a new folder on your desktop
  3. Save files to the new folder on your desktop
  4. Find the location of your existing files.
  5. Unzip files into the new folder on your desktop.
  6. Drag and drop each of the files from your desktop into your folder with the existing files.
  7. The computer should prompt you that you are copying over a file with the same name.
  8. You are now upgraded to the current version.

What does "Hardware Lock not found" mean?

Dongle drivers issues will usually report either “No Hardware LOK found” or an “Error 15” message.
To correct this they need to be re-installed:

Remove the dongle...

If using the 4.96 or 5.12 you have to uninstall and restart the machine prior to re-installing:

 -          Start > Run > Browse to the location of the hinstall.exe or the haspdinst.exe

-          Highlight the relevant file and click Open on the botton right of the dialogue (should take you straight back to the Run dialogue with the with the driver path present)

Add the following command switches to remove:

-          (4.96) “X:\....\hinstall.exe” –r –kp –alldrv

-          (5.12) “X:\....\haspdinst” -fr –kp

Restart the machine..

-         Go back to Start > Run pull up the previous text string and replace the previous switches with the –i to install

-          Once installed put the dongle back and the MAP Software should work.
